5.5 Plantation Analysis
Plantation are a good way to think of a new identity for a place. In the city, this is particularly a good tool to structurate and enhance the value of the public spaces. Moreover, it is also essential to create ecological corridors inside as well outside cities.

The most probably important factor about the plantation on the local environment is the site where the plantation is placed. We should make good use of various functions of plantation in the future. Non-native tree species adapting the local environment may serve as corridors for wildlife and act as a buffer for native forest, reducing edge effect. By contrary, we should use them as a tool of defining the space, to mark the edge of a place.
