5.1 Sun Analysis
Sun is a factor that has major influences on people’s moods, behavior and activities. In my opinion, the presence of light, warmth and energy of the sun will be of a far more importance in future design and planning. In future projects there has to be viewed more, especially in projects that are acting on a local scale for instance in terms of building orientation, parceling and the usage of plantation to create a pleasant environment.
Heating Efficiency
Heating systems are a primary focus for sustainable architecture because they are typically one of the largest single energy drains in buildings. Passive solar designs allow buildings to harness the energy of the sun efficiently without the use of any active solar mechanisms such as photovoltaic cell solar panels.

Cooling Efficiency
In warmer climates where cooling is a primary concern passive solar designs can also be very effective. Masonry building materials with high thermal mass are very valuable for retaining the cool temperatures of night throughout the day. Buildings are often designed to capture and channel existing winds particularly the especially cool winds coming from nearby bodies of water.
