Water

The water in the Landport region has important functions in various fields: public safety from flooding, drinking water supplies, nature and culture, water sports and tourism. In developing a strategy for the Landport area in 2035 the water plays an important role.

In our perspective we have several strategic projects that concern about water conservation in the Landport region which are:

Water Defence Line

The water defence line will be protected and where possible be exploited more. Though it should form the boundaries for the further growth of the cities in ‘t Gooi. Water Defence Line also protects the current qualities of this area and using it for recreational purposes.

Green Strip in Flevoland

The green strip in our perspective contains a part so-called wetland. Wetland is especially composed of forested swamps, shrub wetland, wet meadows, marsh and provides water storage. Thanks to the water storage system, rain water could be reused directly in the different ecotourisms facilities in the park. One of the aim of wetland is to to help reducing the effects of flooding by creating floodway where water can naturally accumulate. This is also a way to filter and control sediments and nutriments.

Wind

Wind is another very important issue when designing the new real waterfront. The differences between the shores are very easy to notice. The inner shore which is more protected can deal with a more open structure whereas the lake front requires a stronger structure and aslo a typology of housing that can cope with this wind.

In our perspective we have strategic project of Green Strip that concerns about wind for energy conservation in the Landport region which is:

This strategic project integrates the wind throught the new windmills fields that we propose from our perspective.
